Each year over 1 million babies are aborted, divorce and infidelity is widespread, many fathers abandon their families, and communities are plagued with lawless violence, drugs, gangs, pornography and child prostitution. Throughout history, freedom and faith have endured because men of conviction have stood against such immorality, defended truth, and refused to be indifferent. In that same tradition, the Shield of Virtue Award is given to young men who transform conviction into action, by upholding virtue with humility and strength. It is not a recognition of power, status or pride, but of moral courage, sacrifice, and a life dedicated to defending what is good, true, and eternal.
